Hi.

At the weekend I was running the 3-day Professional Wedding Photography Workshop with a really fun group of photographers.

Over the three days, attending this wedding photography training course you will learn the following:

Day 1. The photo shoot, where you learn how to photograph a wedding from the Bridal prep through to the cutting of the cake including dealing with low light, use of reflectors, posing suggestions, capturing details plus more. From the day you will go away with a great portfolio of your own wedding photographs.

Day 2. This day is all about what happens after the wedding which includes training on post production in Photoshop, workflow, creating slideshows, presenting images to your clients, album  designs and choosing which products to sell to your clients.

Day 3. This is a fantastic day where you will learn the essential business skills required to launch your own wedding photography business and learn just what it takes to become an in-demand photographer and start running your own profitable wedding photography business.

Also, as I’m an actual in-demand wedding photographer, unlike the trainers of other photography companies in the region, you can be assured that what I’m teaching you will be fully up to date and what today’s bride and grooms want from their wedding photographer to ensure that your photography business really excels.

Back from my Holiday

July 22nd

Well it’s been a very busy week indeed since getting back from my holiday.

On Saturday and Sunday the studio was being hired out on both days to a couple of Essex photographers. On Saturday a photographer was doing a shoot which involved female super heroes and on Sunday another photographer was doing a calendar shoot with a group of 25 triathlon athletes.

Studio hire rates are only £20 an hour and include all equipment. Book five hours and get two hours free. Call for details 01376 323 915

On the training side, on Tuesday and Wednesday I was running the Introduction to Digital Photography workshop. We had a great group of photographers who had traveled from throughout Essex, London and also Kent.

The Introduction to Digital Photography workshop is the ideal digital photography training course for anyone who owns or is considering buying a digital SLR camera and wants to know how to get past all the jargon, get the camera off of auto and start taking great photographs. In the afternoon of both days we go out to a location so everyone can put into practise what they have learnt.

One of the great benefits of attending my 2 or 3 workshops is that you don’t have to attend the days in succession, making it easier to work around your other commitments. In fact this week we had two people who just attended Day 1 this month and will then be coming back to do day 2 and another guy who came along to do the second day

Photography Training Courses – How to Take Great Holiday Photographs

July 9th

Digital Photography Training tips, Top Tips & Advice.

Hi.

Photography Training Courses – Want to improve your Holiday Photographs?

I’m currently on vacation for a couple of weeks over in Samos, a Greek island in the Aegean Sea just a few miles off of the coast of Turkey. Samos is the birthplace of Pythagoras, the mathematician (remember the Pythagoras Theorem from school?), scholar etc….

With the sun rising very early I have to confess that any plans that I had to get photographs of the sun rising have been permanently put on hold, after all this is meant to be a holiday.

As it is a holiday all my professional camera equipment has been safely stored away and instead I just packed my Canon G12, which I have to say is a fantastic little camera and I’m really pleased with it.

To help you improve the way you take your holiday photographs, please find below a small selection of photographs I have taken along with a brief description on tips to help you take great holiday photographs.

Get lower to change the view the subject and slightly tilt the camera diagonally for more drama

Photography Training Essex

Simply use foliage from the trees in the foreground to create a frame for the main subject

Essex Photography Training

Take a photograph from the side to create 'leading lines' that will take the viewers eye across the image

Essex Photography Training

Find subjects with bold colours and textures to help your photographs 'pop'

Essex Photography Training

'Rule of Thirds' Instead of putting the person in the middle put them to one side to place them in the scene rather than the photo just being about the person.

Another example of using leading line to draw the viewers eye into the image

Look for strong shapes. For this image I had to go and find the plant pot to give more interest to the photograph

Essex Photography Training

Get in close. If your camera has Macro setting use this to create a shallow depth of field

Geometric shapes of the steps to create a bold image with the pots to add interest

Photography Training Essex

Look for bold local features to create a 'Postcard'

Digital Photography Training

Find a mountain, start climbing up... keep on climbing, then climb a little bit more. Find a safe vantage point and take your photo

Technically there is too much going on in this photograph. But hey, holiday photographs are to give you great memories of your time away so simply take the photographs that will do this for you

If you’re fairly new to photography or you simply want to refresh your skills then why not come along to one of our Introduction to Digital Photography workshops. You’ll have a great day learning new techniques and making new friends.
